16% own wearables, 76% don’t plan to buy any

“The world of wearables leans toward fitness trackers, although overall adoption of both seems to be low in the U.S. By the end of last year, fewer than a quarter (16%) of consumers in the U.S. owned a fitness tracker or smartwatch. Of wearables sold in the fourth quarter of last year, 35% were smartwatches. However, general interest in wearables seems to be low. More than three quarters (76%) of consumers in the U.S. who don’t currently own a wearable said they don’t plan to purchase one within the next year.” Read more at MediaPost.
